These outings provide valuable time for families to connect and engage meaningfully which are essential experiences in supporting emotional development and communication skills.
They also offer lasting memories, build trust, and allow space to help parents better understand their children outside the pressures of daily life, which can be extremely challenging in their circumstances.
Many of the children we support have witnessed or been directly hurt by the perpetrator of abuse. They often have to flee from everything they know to be safe. Providing a safe and nurturing environment so they can heal from their trauma and have fun, as every child deserves, is so important. This support is also vital for the non-abusive parent, knowing their children are free to be kids in a safe way and helping the whole family heal.
We’re thrilled to see such positive feedback from the families and know it’s made a difference!
